Essex Westford School District is seeking a full-time licensed Speech Language Pathologist beginning in the 23/24 school year to serve students requiring SLP services at Albert D. Lawton Intermediate School. This position involves directing services and development of instruction to children with developmental delays, autism, and other disability areas in an inclusive small group and 1:1 setting; evaluating speech and language for the same; and case management of cases appropriately aligned with an SLP. • Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid VT Educator license with a Speech Language Pathologist endorsement (0-84).
• Certificate of Clinical Competency-Speech-Language Pathology is preferred.
• Experience instructing and assessing children grades K-8 is preferred.
• Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to effectively engage students at the middle school level.
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of demographic variables that impact student achievement and uses this knowledge to design and deliver instruction.
• Effectively integrates social and emotional learning skills through regular interactions with students.

For column placement on the salary schedule, we consider credits earned after the date of your degree (bachelor's or master's) in which you received a grade of B or better. For step placement, we grant one step for every year of previous public school teaching experience for the first five years, then one step for every two years of public school teaching experience thereafter. We also consider directly related industry experience (e.g., private school, college) by granting one step for every two years of full-time experience in most cases.
