The Medical Resort has immediate opportunities for PRN Speech Language Pathologists in North (Willowbrook and The Woodlands) for those interested in a flexible work schedule, a job in close proximity to home and caring for the aging population.

Job Description:

The Medical Resort offers short-term rehab and long-term care services to individuals needing extra assistance in their daily lives. Our therapy department provides respiratory, occupational, physical and speech therapy to residents and our goal is to restore, maintain and prevent the decline of function. The SLP must be able to set achievable goals for each resident as well as document and record the patient’s condition. Performs duties at a high level with minimal orientation.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates patient’s speech-language and swallowing abilities upon admittance.

• Assists in on-going assessments and treatment of patient care in accordance with professional, state and federal standards.

• Develops treatment plans, including goals and processes to achieve identified goals.

• Provides treatment as ordered by the attending physician.

• Complete documentation in a timely manner.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Applicant must hold a master’s degree in speech-language pathology.

• Have a current Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language Association. (required)

• Licensed in the State of Texas. (required)

• Current CPR training is required.

• Must be Vital Stim certified and have experience and skills in treatment of patients with trachs and vents.

• This position requires experience and expertise in the evaluation and treatment of speech-language, cognitive and swallowing impairments associated with various neuro, cardio, pulmonary, oncology and dementia diseases.

• Knowledge of Rehab Optima is required.

• Bilingual- Spanish/English (preferred)

• Basic computer knowledge.
