Overview:
Job Summary
Responsible for the structural design, relational support, analysis, and continual optimization of delegated database environments and their associated applications. Has primary responsibility for coordinating database modification efforts with peers, management, and the entire user community. Responds professionally to user and management inquiries regarding system functionality and in a timely fashion. Prepares strategic plans regarding the orderly evolution of system cycles and processes.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

1. Performs modifications to database and defined relationships, maintaining optimum functionality where appropriate.

2. Provides ongoing training and support to personnel in critical and technical and non-technical areas.

3. Interfaces hardware, software and operating environment into a total software solution to satisfy corporate objectives.

4. Coordinates installation and maintenance activities associated with packaged software. Provides evaluation of software upgrades and their effect on the database environment.

5. Provides on call support, as needed, to system areas critical to the operation of the hospital.

6. Makes recommendations, accompanied with supporting documentation, to management regarding system enhancements and product development.

7. Develop and support all Disaster Recovery Standards MS SQL.

8. Responsible for providing own connectivity and hardware to perform remote support.

9. Responsible for adhering to HH and departmental policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required

Education:

Require Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Computer

Science. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Experience:

Require minimum of 2-5 years experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a Microsoft SQL Environment.

Additional skills/abilities:

Proficiency in several computer languages and operating systems as required by work environment. Detailed knowledge of various technical design and development methodologies. Strong analytical skills with an emphasis to detail. Effective communication and technical documentation skills. Ability to develop requests into logical and clear definitions in order to facilitate system and database development. Amount of supervision required: Minimal to None. Ability to grasp business concepts and objectives and translate them into system solutions relative to software and system development. Proficiency in project management skills.
