Job Overview:
The primary functions of the Senior Accountant – Level II / Special Projects are to perform professional level accounting work in the preparation, maintenance, and review of accounting records in addition to being a key contributor on the accounting set-up for the new iRely ERP system. The position requires considerable knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting functions. Exercises discretion and independent judgment regarding significant matters pertaining to the business. This is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Corporate Controller.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with the iRely ERP implementation with a focus on the set-up and testing of functions that impact the accounting records
- Development of financial statement reports
- Set-up and testing of bank accounts and bank reconciliations
- Coordinate with a broader team on new processes for exchanging information between the banks and the ERP system
- Set-up and test the conversion of the fixed asset ledgers and supporting documents
- Other ERP implementation tasks as assigned
- Assist in the monthly close process
- Financial statement variance analysis
- Preparation of audit workpapers
- Preparation of bank reconciliations
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Review of junior level accountants workpapers
- Maintain fixed asset ledgers and supporting documents
- Able to access and accurately input information using company software
- Accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines
- Exercise authority regarding matters of significance to business, without specific instructions or prescribed procedures
- Independently establish, maintain, and service business matters involving tax, finance, accounting, budgeting, and auditing
- Mentor junior level accountants and provide guidance on challenging assignments
- Good interpersonal skills
- Use good reasoning and organizational skills
- Stand/sit for several hours in a row
- Regular and reliable attendance and on-site presence at work
- Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous conferences
- Ability to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress
- Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies
- Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Perform any duties as may be assigned
Qualifications / Experience / Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years of general accounting experience
- Must have considerable knowledge with basic accounting principles (i.e., journal entries, debits, credits, etc.)
- Must be proficient with accounting functions such as: financials, budgets, ROI and full book cycles
- Familiar with multi company accounting management and service-oriented work order models
- Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook
- Prior experience with system implementations is preferred
- Pass 7-year background check
