JOB OVERVIEW

MPG is hiring an experienced accounting professional to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of its Order to Cash finance function. This is a hands-on role reporting to the CFO in an organization that believes in curiosity, resourcefulness, and candid debate. The role also directly supports the leader of the Order to Cash business unit. This position is remote with mandatory travel to Buffalo every other month for a week to manage and work with local team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the monthly financial close and compilation of supporting workpapers for our Order to Cash business unit.
  • Manage a growing finance team, currently consisting of 5 professionals
  • Prepare all necessary monthly/quarterly reporting for internal management
  • Establish, implement, and improve a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain current financial systems and support evolution to a new ERP
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Client Consignment Remittance Process
  • Point person for managing the annual audits for the Order to Cash unit.
  • Prepare the annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Own all aspects of Order to Cash treasury.
  • Review monthly Budget vs Actual reporting and communicate variances to department heads
  • Serve as the Finance leader / point of contact to our Order to Cash clients for questions / inquiries on cash remittance issues.
  • Provides financial and system problem solving for Order to Cash business opportunities outside normal day to day process.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES

  • Demonstrable experience accounting for Consignment Inventory business.
  • Experience in assorted GL accounting related to retailer transactions (sales, chargebacks, deductions, etc)
  • Proven leadership building high functioning teams, managing 5 or more professionals
  • ERP System implementation background in a multi-company, multi-business segment environment
  • Track record of quickly establishing business acumen to support multi-division P&L and Cash forecasting requirements
  • ASC 606 implementation experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, supporting compilation of diverse data sets to efficiently produce analysis and insights
  • Experience compiling and leveraging client profitability reporting to build impactful business partner relationships with the commercial organization
  • MUST have references from an audit partner at top 10 accounting firm and 2 “C” level executives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting, advanced degree preferred
  • CPA (can be inactive) or CMA required
  • Minimum of ten years of accounting management experience w/4+ years in a top 10 accounting firm
  • Inventory, CPG or Consumer Goods experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and ERP software
  • Excellent management, team building and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to positive and professional interpersonal relationships
