Job Description
Installs, programs, integrates, troubleshoots, and repairs robotic equipment such as CNC's, PLCs, robot controllers, positioning systems, vision systems, automated fixture devices, and parts orientors/feeders. May be responsible for making equipment upgrades and process improvements to support existing robotic processes. Requires an Associate's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology with a concentration in Robotics, or suitable and demonstrative skills based on years of relevant experience. Demonstrated relevant experience in conceptualizing, designing, programming, and troubleshooting robotics equipment and control systems. Inspects for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications. May occasionally operate a forklift. Inspects for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications. Responsible for quality of work and appropriately resolving unusual operating conditions. Willingly modifies work schedule and duties to accommodate Company needs. All other duties as assigned. May require successful completion of specific education, training, or certifications.
Minimum Requirement
- 2-year degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology with a concentration in Automation, PLC, Robotics, or equivalent required.
- 4-year degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology with a concentration in Automation, PLC, Robotics, or equivalent preferred.
- Strong computer use.
- Strong Math skills, independent decision-making, and effective self-management.
- Two or more relevant experience gained through on-the-job instruction, apprenticeship programs, and increasingly more complex assignments required.
- High level of independent decision-making with effective self-management.
- Proven machine operations and/or mechanical aptitude.
- 4 or more years of Automation, Integration, Robotic or PLC Programming experience preferred.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in conceptualizing, designing, programming, and troubleshooting automated robotics equipment and control systems, schematics, and 2D drawings understanding.
Functional Requirements
Routinely able to:
- Manually lift and move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bend
- Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck
- Walk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks
- Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- See, inspect, handle and evaluate product quality
- Read and understand written English language work instructions
- Work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions
- Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights
- Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI
