Responsibilities:
The Role…

The Sr. Customer Business Manager – Specialty will manage all sales functions within but not limited in National Gym, Military, Sporting Goods channel. They will attain aggressive top and bottom-line annual objectives via Strategic Growth Planning. They will work closely with the Director of Sales – Emerging Channels in the planning and execution of the holistic Channel strategies. They will help lead annual planning and work closely with finance and Supply Chain to ensure financial targets are met and that we provide excellent customer service. They will also liaison with Marketing and Sales Planning to help develop Channel Specific product and program innovation. Additionally, they will lead and own projects that will be assigned by the Director or Sales – Emerging Channels as business needs evolve. The role requires a drive for continual measurable results against objectives and year over year sales growth.

This position will be based remotely {if incumbent is outside Northern California} with several trips to our Emeryville, California office expected at least quarterly.

The expected pay scale for this role if the individual lives in CA/NY will be $130k to $140k, which may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area (if applicable), and internal equity for the role.

The expected pay scale for this role if the individual lives outside of CA/NY will be $110k to $120k, which may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area (if applicable), and internal equity for the role.

Strategic Channel Management: 60% of Time
  • Serve as the primary contact for Military, Sporting Goods, Corp Gym channels
  • Works directly with Associate DOS on strategic management of the P&L and financial matters within Specialty Distribution
  • Provides monthly and annual forecasting and budget targets in assigned channels
  • Strategically plan monthly and annual growth plans within assigned channels
  • Build strategic customer relationships at multiple levels of the customer organization to develop influence and drive growth

New Business / Independent Gym Strategy: 30% of Time
  • Work with Associate Sales Director to analyze white space markets and customers that would be new to PNC
  • Develop channel-specific sell stories as well as customize the National PNC Category Selling story
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Associate Sales Director and Customer Business Manager, attend Sales calls, and provide all necessary support
  • Work cross-functionally internally and externally to set-up new customers; own that process
  • Travel as needed to secure new business

Annual Customer Strategic Planning: 10% of Time
  • Aligning with Associate Director of Sales/Sales Planning on Volume and Trade funding plans
  • Represent Customers base in cross functional projects including:
    • Account specific marketing
    • Sales Planning/Finance
Qualifications:
What are we looking for?
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in Specialty Distribution Channel sales
  • 2+ years of experience selling directly to Corp Gym, Sporting Goods and Military channel customers
Travel:
  • Up to 40% travel is likely.
Skills:
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage through ambiguous situations and develop clear actions to get things accomplished through others
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and customer management skills
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, excel
  • Analytical skills within syndicated data and internal sales data with a problem-solving attitude


Physical Requirements:
  • Trade shows and local events will require standing and lifting 30+ lbs
