Responsibilities:
Provides general guidance and interpretation to field management and answers associate questions on company human resources policies, procedures and practices. May supervise corporate HR Generalists who monitor the company’s employee hotline.
  • Provides interpretation and guidance to management and associates on HR policies, procedures, practices and related documentation.
  • Advises management regarding hiring decisions, equal employment opportunity, employee relations, union avoidance, compensation, benefits and health/safety issues.
  • Assists in the implementation of staff orientation in the corporate office.
  • Handles inquiries and complaints from the field and corporate office. Investigates, resolves or refers complex employee relation issues to the Field HR team.
  • Revises and disseminates human resources management policies and procedures manual and associate handbook.
  • Maintains associate relations records and prepares statistical reports concerning staffing and associate relations (e.g. turnover, employee hotline, associate surveys).
  • Coaches and mentors staff and establishes standards and goals for employee performance. May be responsible for hiring, terminating, and disciplinary action decisions according to company guidelines and procedures.
  • Serves as primary backup to HR directors during vacancy, leave of absence or vacation.
  • May conduct exit interviews with corporate staff to determine reasons behind separation. Develops recommendations and strategies to address areas of concern.
  • Develops presentation materials and forms as requested.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and a minimum of three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements

Preferred certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) or desire/willingness to acquire.

Management/Decision Making

Uses limited independent judgment to make decisions based on precedents and established guidelines. Solves problems using standard procedures and precedents. Knows when to refer issues to supervisor and when to handle them personally.

Knowledge and Skills

Has a working knowledge of a skill or discipline that requires basic analytic ability. Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process. Has working knowledge of the organization. Demonstrated knowledge of employment law (federal and state) and general human resources practices.

Salary Range Information: $46,540 - $58,180 / year
