This position will assist the Lead Ice Technician in the responsibility of the installation, maintenance, and removal of high-quality ice, logos, lines, dashers, and glass. Monitors air, ice floor, and ice surface temperatures and humidity level and recommend changes when necessary. Assist the Lead Ice Technician in the daily care and proper operation of all ice making and other maintenance equipment in accordance with existing University and manufacturer recommended procedures; Work with the Lead Ice Technician to ensure that all on-ice equipment including ice resurfacers are maintained and repaired as needed. Also, assist the Lead Ice Technician with the maintenance and care for all equipment in the Ice Plant including but not limited to the compressors and the brine pumps. Work with the Lead Ice Technician on building maintenance including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, painting, doors, window, and locks. Assist the Lead Ice Technician with the training and supervision of the operations staff and while on shift, ensures that all staff performs duties efficiently and safely. Assist the Lead Ice Technician with the monitoring and maintenance of the hydrotherapy pools in the team space. Is a Certified Ice Technician and Certified Pool Operator or is one working towards those certifications.

There is a preferred candidate for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in the operation, care, and maintenance of ice resurfacers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Ice Technician and Certified Pool Operator or working towards certifications
• Computer literacy for record-keeping is preferred
