This critical role in RMD Digital Technology is an exciting opportunity to join our growing DevOps and Classified Engineering Solutions organization as a Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer. The primary responsibility for this position is to design, implement and support DevOps solutions for our key programs based in St Petersburg, FL locations on site position full time.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Leverage company best practices and capabilities to assist programs with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of Dev-Ops software solutions.
• Support software tool customization and automation including development of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program needs.

• Assist engineering teams with development and support of software build/test pipeline automation and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across both cloud and on-premises computing environments.

• Maximize solution performance and reliability through proactive, automated testing and issue mitigation while minimizing impacts associated with ongoing system patching and upgrades.

• Ensure system reliability and continuity by developing and validating fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans for tool infrastructure.

• Assist engineers with tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices.
• Provision new projects, software configuration repositories and user access

• Administer and maintain the security and compliance of tooling solutions including hardening, patching and version upgrades.

• Provide documentation of implemented DevOps environments by authoring procedures, work instructions and program profile documents.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires bachelor’s in computer science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM); and 8 years of related experience OR master’s degree in IT, STEM or Engineering and 5 years of related experience or minimum of 12 years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree or associate degree and 10 years of direct experience.

• Experience in Windows and or Linux Server Environments
• Experience in deploying and managing integrated software applications in an enterprise environment, including server-based tools with database components.
• Scripting experience to support automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.)
• System administration experience in both Windows and Linux based systems
• Experience working with cloud and/or Kubernetes based environments.
• Experience with relational databases and ability to support/troubleshoot data backup, verification and validation activities for server-based tools and solutions.
• Experience with Agile concepts and methodologies
• Experience in networking and system administration and experience with application issue resolution and performance tuning
• Experience in a technical support role
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

• Experience learning new technologies, methodologies, and processes.
• Experience with container technology (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu)
• Experience developing and implementing scripting and automation capabilities using infrastructure as code platforms (Ansible, Chef, Terraform, etc.)
• Experience supporting modern DevOps applications using products such as Jira, Git, Confluence, Coverity, Jenkins, IBM Rational products, and Microsoft Azure DevOps Server
• Experience with deploying and supporting software and solutions within a cloud-hosted environment (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Highly organized with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex tool and system operational performance issues with services and devices spanning multiple network boundaries.
• Experience with Platform One DevSecOps platform toolchains and capabilities
• Virtual machine and container hardening and vulnerability analysis
• Software development and configuration management experience
• Experience with legacy source code tools like ClearCase, Synergy, SVN
• Experience/Familiarity with other engineering tools such as DOORS and MATLAB
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills supporting the ability to work effectively and efficiently.
• Experience securing and hardening systems and web-based applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work styles.
• Proven ability to work effectively with remote colleagues and customers.
