Job description
Raytheon Technologies (RTX) has an opening for a Sr. Principal Software Developer - Full Stack .NET/JAVA Technologies (Manager, Software Development). Hybrid Opportunity.
This position is responsible for developing final software plus implements build/integration process:
- Develops, codes, tests and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software.
- Works with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems.
- Responds to customer suggestions for improvements/enhancements.
- Supports the understanding of programming technologies available to provide the most efficient means to implement the needed functionality.
- Drives advancement of technical methods.
- Establishes enterprise-wide standards for application integration.
- Plans for future platform requirements to support business needs. Coordinates release with product management.
- Drives agile processes and methodologies, including Development, Security and Operations (DEVSECOPS).
Use and apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques associated with Java, javascript, NET C# and SQL Server. Provides solutions to technical software problems using ingenuity and creation as a self-starter with little management oversight, following department processes and procedures. Work will have a large impact on current and future organization decisions and may provide guidance to junior staff. Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a major project leadership role. Interacts with senior software personnel through both written and verbal communication. Has working knowledge of emerging software technologies. Produces documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts.
Required Skills:
Typically a minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a software developer and a bachelor’s degree or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree. Advanced degree and 3+ years related work experience.
- Experience developing business applications using Java and .NET technologies.
- Experience developing web services using Java technologies.
- Experience developing GUIs using javascript and related frameworks.
- Extensive experience with TSQL.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- US Citizenship
Desired Skills:
- Experience with RTN business systems.
- Strong analytical skills.
- An understanding of Raytheon’s Earned Value Measurement System (EVMS)
- Working knowledge of XML.
- Experience using Eclipse.
- Experience with automated Build systems
- Experience with ANT or Maven
Education Requirements:
Typically a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree
