Position Summary:
The Business Development Leader of Aerospace Americas will lead the sales and Industry SME teams, ensuring effective sales strategies are in place to achieve revenue and profitability objectives for the company. He/She will achieve new and existing business sales targets by maximizing sales effectiveness while keeping the sales team motivated and driving sales performance. He/She will also partner with other departments to remove roadblocks and develop data/tools to accelerate sales and oversee key customer relationships. The primary focus will be on Aeronautics and other business critical accounts.The Business Development Leader of Aerospace Americas will lead the sales and Industry SME teams, ensuring effective sales strategies are in place to achieve revenue and profitability objectives for the company. He/She will achieve new and existing business sales targets by maximizing sales effectiveness while keeping the sales team motivated and driving sales performance. He/She will also partner with other departments to remove roadblocks and develop data/tools to accelerate sales and oversee key customer relationships. He/She will be accountable for the P&L of the related perimeter. The primary focus will be on Aeronautics, Space and other business critical accounts.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee and ensure that sales forecasts are up to date and reliable.
- Develop and ensure budget compliance according to company goals and strategic objectives.
- Manage all needed function for achieving revenue and GOP target on the perimeter.
- Lead aerospace US sales organization to drive sales performance and provide day to day leadership and management to achieve sales goals.
- Develop and execute solution-oriented sales strategies.
- Lead the strategy to sell engineering solutions within the Aerospace Industry.
- Grow the funnel and drive maturation of the funnel from qualification to closure.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to ensure consistent execution of corporate strategy at the sales level.
- Analyze performance and market data to identify growth opportunities.
- Spearhead the development of short/long-term sales strategies to increase market.
- Promote the use of Salesforce and other tools available to increase efficiency.
- Coach and mentor sales by working individually to plan, prioritize and execute against the set of objectives for their region.
- Actively participate in the hiring, on-boarding, development, and retention of sales personnel for Aerospace domain.
- Keep the sales team motivated and excited.
- Team and foster a success-oriented and accountable environment.
- Create a collaborative, team-based environment to attract high-performing talent.
- Oversee key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
- Drive sales performance by establishing standards and measures for performance and monitoring of sales team productivity and drive continuous improvement through goal setting and increasing benchmarks.
What you’ll have:
- Demonstrated leadership ability, motivational skills, along with the combination of tact, integrity, and common sense.
- 10-15+ years of experience at the sales leadership level successfully managing revenue growth within large, high-profile accounts.
- Strong track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining high performing sales talent in the Aeronautics domain.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to forecast, analyze, and communicate sales growth.
- Strong understanding of Engineering solutions selling methods / techniques, and the ability to coach and mentor personnel.
- Demonstrated strength in negotiation, financial and analytical skills.
- Able to transform data and information to actionable sales strategies and approaches.
- Ability to effectively present information to senior leadership and customers.
- Highly motivated, with strong interpersonal skills.
