IMMEDIATE HIRE

Strategic Analysis, Inc (SA) is seeking a versatile, skilled Sr. Security Specialist to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) Research and Development (R&D) activities within the Research Directorate (NGA Research). NGA delivers world-class geospatial intelligence that provides a decisive advantage to policymakers, military service members, intelligence professionals and first responders.

In this role, the Sr. Security Specialist will:

  • Provide system security analysis and program documentation and risk assessment analysis in support of the RTP mission.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive picture of the threats to NGA Research programs.
  • Assist in the identification of potential program vulnerabilities that could be exploited.
  • Assess the impact of losing NGA R&D information.
  • Perform overall security risk assessment and recommend risk mitigation efforts for NGA’s research efforts.
  • Assist with reviewing and establishing additional technical and process-related security classification guidance for new concepts developed by the Offices and Pods.
  • Develop uniquely tailored classification guidelines for innovative GEOINT tools development and GEOINT data and specialized handling and dissemination instructions for Intelligence materials and specialized GEOINT programs and publications from NGA/Research.
  • Provide expert advice and assistance regarding the protection of classified information, classification management, special security, industrial security, security education and training, and security investigations.
  • Coordinate with PMs and OGC to identify export-controlled/ITAR restricted technologies in development within NGA Research.
  • Provide briefings and assist in briefings for NGA Research workforce on evolving security policies and guidance, including foreign Government relationships.
  • Assist in the preparation of Cooperative Agreements with U.S. academic, non-profit, and industrial facilities to support research studies and determine whether data is ready for release to audiences including but not limited to Government personnel, others in industry, foreign Government personnel, or the general public.
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining historical records of each NGA Research project’s security architecture.
  • Liaise and maintain good working relationships with internal and external Government, military, civilian, industry, and academic agencies and organizations.
  • Review program documentation for public release.
  • Ensure unclassified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and classified information is properly marked and distributed in accordance with the appropriate Security Classification Guide(s).
  • Recommend appropriate classification levels to protect program technical information.


Sr. Security Specialist
Required Qualifications:


Experience

  • Greater than or equal to 15 years of work experience
  • Experience developing, staffing and managing security programs for R&D of NSG communities (to include the IC, DoD, Commonwealth allies, industry, and academia).
  • Expert knowledge of Government policy and procedures for the handling of Unclassified, sensitive/Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), National Security Information (Collateral), and SCI (including special security requirements) for the implementation of IC and DoD policy.
  • Knowledge in developing, reviewing and documenting classification management business processes ensuring compliance with the Director of National Intelligence policy (ODNI), E.O. 13526, DoD 5200.01, Volumes 1-4, federal regulations and international arrangements.

Education

  • BA/BS, MA/MS, or PhD in law, law enforcement, cybersecurity, criminal justice, political science, history, English, or similar to these majors.

Clearance

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS, MA/MS, or PhD in math, physics, chemistry, engineering, or computer science.
