Position Summary:
The Sr. Supply Chain Specialist will be a senior level individual contributor partnering with the Director and technology solution team in the Processes & Data System Team in Supply Chain to deliver application and technology-based solutions for the LV site. Responsibilities revolve around working with the functional business units to translate business needs into technology solutions. The Sr. Specialist will become an expert in technology solutions for the business by developing and improving processes related to data management and application integration. Sr. Specialist will serve as a team representative on cross-functional projects in support of more senior colleagues in the technology solution team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Introduces and integrates new technologies and/or new processes, as needed. Analyzes systems and processes and impact on business performance. Partners with IT and the business unites to develop tools needed to support business processes.
  • Assists in the development of operational functional requirements and business process flow architecture of business enabling software such as SAP, LIMS, Oracle, MES, LES.
  • Lead the gathering, documentation, and management of system & process requirements for either MES or SAP and any boundary application interfaces.
  • Provides input on and executes assessments of the value delivered for improvement initiatives and business process enhancement.
  • Works with functional business units to execute the implementation and deployment of new software applications as well as enhancements, maintenance and upgrades of existing applications.
  • Accountable for designing master data processes in various applications (SAP, MES, LIMS) for creation, approval, integration, and maintenance of data that supports LV operations including Ambisome manufacturing and packaging, Solid Dose packaging, clinical operations, and future commercial fill operations.
  • Gain an understanding of the enabling technologies supporting supply chain, single source of data, commercial manufacturing, integrated applications and integrated business processes
  • Supports analysis of Gilead policies, procedures, techniques, standards, and systems. Contributes to the development of new business processes and standards.
  • Executes on the preparation and communication of complex ‘current state’ and ‘future state’ documents to site leadership and staff.
Education, Experience, and Skills
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in related field and a BS or BA; or
  • 4+ years of relevant experience and a MA/MBA/MS; or
  • Demonstrated high aptitude for working with technical details and data applications required.
  • Strong working knowledge of business enabling software such as SAP, LIMS, Oracle, MES, LES is highly desired.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical operations/cGMP environment highly desirable
