Staff Accountant
What we are looking for:
Here at Aldridge Electric, we are leaders in our industry from the East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast. We are seeking to hire a Staff Accountant who wants to join our dynamic and energetic team. This role will work collaboratively with the Finance team to maintain accurate budget and change order budget records in our accounting system.
What you’ll do:
Maintain accurate contract accounting
- Update contract value records
- Reconcile the customers adjusted contract amount with the accounting system
- Record and verify contracts and change orders from customers in the accounting system
- Package and submit corresponding budgets for the change orders to the department manager for approval
- Prepare monthly status reports on jobs which require cost updates in Excel
- Maintain accurate project costs
- Review and process project cost corrections
- Reclass and close cost codes as requested by project management
- Assist with project close out
- Other job cost tasks assigned
Who you are:
We are pursuing entry-level candidates with the following qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a construction accounting department, preferred but not required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
- Proficient in Excel
- Good work ethic
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Reconciliation skills
- Ability to work independently while being a team player
