Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will support the month-end close process, utilizing their excellent attention to detail and time management skills to achieve job responsibilities. They’ll support the accounting management team with any external audits by researching and responding to accounting/financial questions.
Position Requirements & Major Responsibilities
- Support month-end close process including;
- Prepare Month-end close Journal Entries (i.e bank transactions, intercompany journals, inventory adjustments, month-end accruals, depreciation & amortization for fixed assets and intangibles).
- Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for Inventory, Prepaids, Bank Reconciliations, Intercompany Balances, Credit cards, Fixed Assets).
- Ensure adequate supporting documentation is in place to support financial results.
- Research, Analyze and document issues arising in the course of business.
- Initiate or collaborate to drive processes and procedures improvements related to areas of responsibility.
- Support Accounting Management with Colibri's External audits by researching and responding to accounting and financial questions.
- Undertake special projects and/or general management assignments as requested by Accounting Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA is a plus
- Audit experience preferred
- Results-oriented workstyle with the ability to demonstrate integrity and honesty
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail oriented
- Strong organizational and time management skills that allow projects and goals to be completed in a timely manner
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Oracle NetSuite
