We are devoted to the full-service medical, surgical, and routine vision care needs of our patients. EyeHealth Northwest has 18 clinic locations, 2 surgery centers, and our own optical lab.

Summary

A unique and fulfilling role reporting to the Controller to provide essential accounting support, ranging from month-end close to tracking and monitoring KPIs and performing financial analysis. We can promise hard work will be met with exposure to a wide variety of work. A great position for someone who wants to take ownership and responsibility for work and projects while being part of a supportive and collaborative team. This position will work alongside one other full-time accountant as well as an AP Specialist. This full-time position will primarily be in-person at our Milwaukie office, but some remote work may be offered.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate month and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Research and reconcile bank account balances, cash statements, and deposits.
  • Prepare and analyze company-wide KPI reports and other monthly and annual deliverables for management and shareholders.
  • Monitor and assist with preparation of company reporting requirements including, but not limited to, unclaimed property, 1099 reporting, property taxes, income taxes, and Census Bureau surveys.
  • Assist in maintaining daily cash balance as requested and make misc. deposits as needed.
  • Assist with accounts payable as needed.
  • Provide support to the CEO from time to time, including creating ad hoc reports, researching and analyzing data, and making recommendations for solutions.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (Vlookups & Pivots).
  • Highly organized, with the ability to effectively manage work, prioritize tasks and follow through to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to critically self-review work for accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and statements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all persons contacted in the course of work.
  • General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting, Finance or related field with sufficient accounting coursework is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties.
