Due to this growth, our team is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant in Grand Prairie, Texas! The Staff Accountant will be a key member of the company s accounting team and will provide cross-functional support in the accounting department, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Organization Structure and Interfaces:
Reports To: Corporate Controller
Primary Interfaces: Customers, Vendors, Polk Employees
Location: Office-based position in Grand Prairie, TX
Pace: Constant changing targets and quick turnaround is essential due to shifting priorities, changing client needs, and project specifications

Job Description:
- Preparing and recording journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed reports.
- Assisting with month-end close, audits, and special projects.
- Reviewing expense accounts for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Maintaining accounting schedules in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policy.
- Communicating with other departments to ensure proper accounting for revenue and expense activities.
- Assisting the accounting team with the preparation of projections and other strategic projects as required.
- Other accounting-related tasks as requested.
Job Requirements
- College degree with an accounting concentration
- Understanding of General Ledger
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
- CPA / CPA candidate will be a big plus
- Construction experience will be an even bigger plus
- Willingness to work longer hours during month end and audit season (what can we say, it s an accounting department!) – Eagerness!
