Job description
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the day to day processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable by reviewing, entering and applying GL codes to invoices and payable expenses in our systems Bill.com as well as entering, coding and reconciling credit card expenses. For A/R you will follow-up on invoices, apply payments and credits to open invoices. You will report to the Senior Accountant and regularly interact with Fortress’s internal teams and you will provide month-end support to the accounting team.
- Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices to ensure that bills are paid correctly and on time.
- Review, reconcile and process credit card bills and expense reports
- Maintain Vendor file information in our systems.
- Perform data entry associated with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Performance and reconcile invoice discrepancies
- Contact and follow up with internal Managers for getting approved invoices and credit card receipts for payments
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Address and respond to vendor inquiries
- Contact customers to ensure payments are received timely
- Apply customer payments and credits to open invoices
- Reconcile all bank accounts
- Reconcile specific balance sheet accounts
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting
- College Degree or equivalent in accounting
- Experience with entering and processing payments in Bill.com
- Good written and speaking communication skills
- Experience with Netsuite or other ERP / Accounting systems
