PATH is seeking well-qualified accounting professionals to join our Finance Department as a Staff Accountant. Experience with non-profits and affordable housing is a plus, but not required. If you are an experienced top-notch accountant who can handle multiple projects, we are willing to train you in the industry specifics!

ABOUT THE FINANCE TEAM
The Finance team is responsible for ensuring that PATH’s accounting books and systems are operating efficiently and effectively. Their efforts help ensure the organization's success by supporting PATH's 125M+ budget, hundreds of thousands of financial transactions a year, and 150+ different grant awards.

WHAT IS A STAFF ACCOUNTANT?
The Staff Accountant works closely with the Controller to complete various accounting activities including processing financial transactions, assisting with book close, and supporting audits. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing daily accounting data entry and transaction reviews
  • Reconciling accounts, notice discrepancies and miscalculations, and provide adjustments
  • Managing all payroll and benefits accounting entries and reconciliations

WHAT YOU BRING
We’re looking for candidates that:

  • Have non-profit and affordable housing accounting experience
  • Have experience with Intacct accounting software
  • Have strong problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to independently and proactively identify and resolve problems
  • Project a professional demeanor
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals both internally and externally
  • Work just as well independently as they do on a team
  • Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting and proactive
  • Have a strong sense of prioritization and can coordinate multiple demands in a high-pressure environment
  • Are excellent at communicating, whether in writing or verbally
  • Maintain and execute confidential and sensitive information appropriately and adhering to all standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
An excellent candidate for this position will have:

  • Non-profit experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, we require all candidates:

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in accounting
  • Have 2 years of experience
  • Be proficient with computers and technologies used for work outputs including:Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word
Familiarity with the rest of Microsoft Office Software
Familiarity with Sage Intacct accounting software or other non-profit accounting system.
Familiarity with enterprise document management platforms such as FileBound and Nexonia

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:

  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
  • Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
  • Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:

Tuberculosis Test
Background Screening
Drug Test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,480.00 - $75,000.00 per year
