Position: Staff Engineer

Position Description: Entry-level engineering graduate position, 0-3 years experience

The staff engineer position operates in an engineering and technician capacity, including supervised engineering activities with supervised and non-supervised technician duties.

Position Qualifications:

Minimium BS in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
EIT certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire preferred
Valid Class D driver's license and pass pre-employment background check

Typical Responsibilities:
Assist project manager with proposal writing and review
Assist project manager with report writing
Maintain equipment and calibrations
Complete standard laboratory testing
(Gradations, Plasticity Indexes, Proctors, Moisture Contents, Specific Gravity, Specimen Preparation)
Complete field testing as assigned
(DCP Testing, Hand/Power Augers, Boring Staking, Utility Coordination, Site Documentation, Test Pits)
Data management, including boring plans, photo logs, boring logs, etc.
Work in a variety of conditions, including loud areas, outdoors, office settings, and transport
Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds repeatedly for 1/4 to 1/2 of daily hours
Maintain communication logs for project manager and BD support

Reports to: President, Vice President, Project Manager, or Project Engineer as appropriate

Supervises: May supervise interns or engineering technicians, depending on experience

Metrics: Minimum Training Hours per quarter for growth
Minimum Billable Time 80%
Quantifiable Skills (tests and certs) per quarter for growth
Complete Project Manager training within 12 months of hire

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
