Staff Environmental Engineer - Portland
Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA) is seeking an entry-level Staff Environmental Engineer to work in our Portland, Oregon office. The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in environmental remediation and investigation work. You should have a general interest in brownfield redevelopment, stormwater management, industrial wastewater treatment, and/or landfill design. As Staff Environmental Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of project execution, including design, permitting, specifications, quantity calculations, report and proposal writing, project management, and cost estimating.
As a Staff Environmental Engineer, you will...
- Prepare engineering designs and specifications in collaboration with a licensed engineer.
- Assist with project planning, cost estimating, permitting, and reporting.
- Support project bidding/contract solicitation.
- Assist in development and implementation of proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets for project work.
- Incorporate detailed quality control review by others into your work.
- Assist in client and regulatory agency discussions and negotiations.
- Work independently and solicit input from mentors.
To thrive in this role, you must have...
- Bachelors in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Engineer-In-Training certification.
- Knowledge and application of environmental engineering principles applied to cleanup of contaminated sites (soil, groundwater, surface water, and/or sediment).
- Interest in stormwater design, environmental remediation, and/or site development.
- Aptitude for using AutoCAD design software, specifically Civil 3D.
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses with various types of software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively work as a team member, both individually and collaboratively, delivering a project successfully to a client within the scope, schedule, budget.
- Construction, construction oversight or construction management experience.
- Ability to drive and willingness to travel occasionally to regional projects.
- Willingness to work overtime, as necessary.

Compensation Range: $65,500 to $80,000
