Infinity Systems Engineering is in search of a Staff Systems Engineer with 6-9 years of experience to join our dynamic team in support of the Global Positioning System III Follow-On (GPS IIIF) Space Segment program.

Position Overview

This Staff Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering support to the GPS IIIF Special Studies team, specifically in the area of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE),

beginning in January 2023.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to develop and update Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) elements and effectively use MBSE/digital engineering to design new satellite systems and payloadsExperience with SysML tools such as Cameo
  • Ability to develop, model, and communicate mission Concepts of Operations and Use Cases with stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies or prior involvement with SCRUM/Kanban/Agile teams
  • Ability to think critically to solve difficult problems and using digital tools and engineering methods
  • Ability to collaborate positively in a team environment with people of different levels of experience and education and virtually in geographically disperse locations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Activities include:

  • Use Digital Engineering tools for creating new architectures, analyses, and simulation products
  • Define and allocate design and test requirements for GPS satellites, primary and hosted payloads
  • Support Agile engineering processes including SCRUM team participation and Sprint demos
  • Conduct engineering analyses to solve complex design, performance, and integration challenges
  • Support architecture definition and performance modeling for next generation satellite technology
  • Support digital transformation including MBSE, Digital Threads, and Modeling & Simulation
  • Explore opportunities to use automation and Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning approaches
  • Ensure logical conversion of customer requirements into enterprise solutions that adhere to technical, cost, and schedule constraints; this includes performance of trade studies, functional analysis, requirements allocation, and interface definition activities
  • Speaking to and collaborating with a variety of people, such as clients, vendors, management and information technology (IT) staff during the design and development of a system
  • Engaging in quality control to ensure products are the highest quality for customer submission

Desired Skills:

  • Experience performing analyses with Modeling and Simulation tools
  • Experience with requirements management systems such as DOORS
  • SCRUM Master training and/or direct experience working Agile programs
  • Matlab, Python or other non-compiled analytical coding experience

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Math (STEM) field
