Barista Responsibilities:

• Support overall profitability and guest satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service while maintaining Centerplate’s standards for safety, cleanliness, sanitation.
• They will create and serve coffee-based beverages and will serve light snack items within a Quick Serve environment in the Convention Center.
• Greet all guests by providing quick, friendly, and personalized service. Initiate dialogue and develop rapport with guests by learning their names and favorite food and drink items.
• Educate guests regarding menu offerings; Initiate suggestive selling and sampling of products. Communicate guest comments to manager on duty, in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all Company recipes and measurements;
• Provide top quality espresso shots for hot and cold beverages;
• Produce superior product presentation in a consistent manner.
• Sell and serve baked goods and miscellaneous food items to guests.
• Accurately processes transactions through the POS while correctly counting back change to guests, and follows all cash management policies and procedures to ensure accountability of Company funds.
• Maintains continuous communication with other staff functions (i.e. coffee bar, register etc.) during peak business times

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
• Must be able to go from warm to cold climates (workstation to coolers). Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and carry approximately 20 feet
• Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth (¼) of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day.
• Employee must be able to perform repetitive motions.
• The employee frequently has hands in soapy water and/or cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
• Employee must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Employee must be able to operate in an environment with moderate to high noise
• Employee must have the ability to walk with non-skid shoes at all times.
