STEM Director
Our client is looking for a STEM Director to direct and manage the overall daily operations of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program. - Hours: 40 hours/week; Monday – Friday 8:30AM-6:00PM
- Status: Salary, Non-Exempt. Remote work available 16hrs/week
Responsibilities of the STEM Director:
- Establish and manage STEM curriculum, grant programs, and experiences that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates achievement of youth development outcomes.
- Recruit, manage, and provide career development opportunities for branch staff and volunteers.
- Evaluate all STEM programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.
- Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation, as well as surveys that reflect youth evaluations toward STEM.
- Responsible for overseeing and managing systems for accurate recordkeeping, accurate and timely reporting, program accountability, safety, maintenance of facility and STEM equipment, and budget and revenue management.
- Manage STEM financial resources, assisting in the development of annual budgets.
- Control expenditures against budget.
- Conduct regular staff meetings,
- Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services, and activities within the Clubs and the community.
Skills and Knowledge of the STEM Director:
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of STEM work experience
- Must have ran/oversee STEM Programming
- 2+ years of work experience in a club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff
- Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems
- Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management
- Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents, and community leaders
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be able to drive 15-passenger vehicles and have a good driving record
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to pass Drug Screening
- Be CPR and First Aid certified
- Be able to function for more than 2 hours on your feet
- Be adaptable and flexible to change
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
