Job Summary:

We welcome you to join the Sterile Processing Team as a Sterile Processing Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for coordination, supervision, and direction of patient flow, staffing, problem recognition and resolution, staff development, budget, and customer service for the designated unit(s) assigned. He/she is expected to keep current on regulations and standards as they apply to the respective areas. Acting as a role model and providing leadership for all department activities is an expectation of this position.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 Year / Associate Degree Minimum
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • 3 - 5 Years Experience in area of Sterile Processing Minimum
  • 1 - 3 Years Management experience Preferred
  • Other: Certification in Sterile Processing Minimum Upon Hire
  • Healthcare Provider CPR – (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY) Minimum Upon Hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages resources and personnel to stay within budget. Provides detailed analysis of budget status as required. Provides and implements cost-savings ideas and works closely with staff and physicians to implement cost-savings initiatives. Assures time sheets are completed accurately and timely.
  • Gathers, records, and analyzes data specific to budget, productivity, quality measures, utilization, etc. and implements strategies to increase revenue and quality and decrease expenses. Assures charges are reviewed for accuracy in a timely manner.
  • Reviews, revises, and develops policies to meet standards and requirements. Communicates policy and practice changes, revisions, regulatory standards, balanced score card data, etc. to staff and physicians. Coordinates in-services and staff educational opportunities.
  • Effectively communicates with staff and is viewed as a role model and leader. Conducts regular staff meetings and maintains minutes of such. Interacts in a professional and caring manner. Makes self available to staff and routinely makes rounds amongst staff.
  • Coordinates staffing on a daily basis to meet patient care needs and remain within budget. Demonstrates ability to function as a sterile processing staff member as needed.
