Job Summary:

This is a temporary position that will last from two - three months and the selected candidate will work 40 hours a week M-F. Qualified candidates are welcome to apply for a permanant position once the job is completed for the opening of the new Winston DC Farmers Co-op store.

As a merchandise and fixture installer you will be on a team that is responsible for executing the scope of work for our new store. It is the Fixture Installer & Merchandiser’s responsibility to ensure that the job is completed safely and timely per the direction of store management. You will assist your team in performing general merchandising, which involves carefully reading instructions (Plan-O-Gram “POG”) and then following those instructions to ensure product presentation matches the company standards. The process of setting POG include tasks such as removing old store fixtures, installing new store fixtures, adjusting shelves/pegs, moving product from one area of the store to another, application of labels/price tags and general cleaning of the work area.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Correctly and efficiently execute planograms, schematics, and visual aides.
  • Set up and tear down shelving, racking and various store fixtures (Gondola).
  • Unloading merchandise and fixtures from trucks.
  • Be able to merchandise based on planograms.
  • Work effectively and diligently in a team environment.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all vendors and on-site supervisors.
  • Keep a clean and safe work environment.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Have reliable transportation

Education and Experience:

  • Ability to Read a Tape Measure Properly
  • Ability to Operate a Forklift and/or Scissor Lift a Plus!
  • Ability to Cross Reference Multiple Documents
  • Experience in Fixture Installation (preferred)
  • Experience in Merchandising (preferred)
  • Experience in New store Set Up (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years Retail Experience (preferred)
  • General math and problem-solving skills.
  • Read and interpret retailer-specific Plan-O-Grams to perform required merchandising activities and fixture installations (POG setting) per instructions.
  • Own and demonstrate safe usage of basic tools including screwdrivers, open-end wrenches, pliers, tape measure, and level.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking up to 9 hours.
  • Bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling required frequently to rearrange merchandise.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and, with appropriate equipment, 300 pounds infrequently with manual & electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
