A Day in the Life
The Lung Health Strategic Program Executive will report directly to the US District Manager (DM) and will have primary responsibility for building and supporting sustainable lung programs and development of KOLs and programs that leverage our critical platform technologies, the ILLUMISITE™ platform and the LungGPS™ Patient Management platform. The Strategic Program Executive will need to work cooperatively with the Sales management team; Procedure Development Specialists (PDS), Clinical Education Specialists (CES), as well as the other internal and external partners to lead generate, conduct demos, and close sales in their given geography. They will deliver a strong strategic value proposition to identify, diagnose and treat sooner lung diseases with a strong clinical and economic value message to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with senior hospital staff and key physicians in the development and execution of a plan to integrate Medtronic platform technologies into sites, ensuring ongoing commitment to the Lung Health strategy in the hospital and utilization of the technologies to change the state of lung cancer care.
  • Deliver strong clinical, technical, and economic value messaging of Medtronic and Lung Heath technologies and solutions. Be a clinical expert in the relative spaces, including Pulmonology, Oncology, IR, Thoracic Surgery, Radiology, and Cancer Centers.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Education, Finance , HEP&R, and Market Development to deploy sales plan and secure customers for ILLUMISITE™ and the LungGPS™ Patient management platform while driving procedural growth.
  • Account, Territory and IDN planning with the local and Enterprise Accounts team to drive consistent alignment for the customer’s Lung Health (LH) program success.
  • Enable strategic targeting and execution of top targets by engaging C-Suite Hospital and service line leaders, leveraging critical internal and external data sets to assess opportunity and develop value proposition.
  • Establish an actionable pipeline of prospects from Medtronic customer base utilizing our salesforce.com enablement platform.
  • Adhere to all Medtronic policies and procedures relative to T&E, expenses, compliance, and ethics.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 8-10 years field sales experience and at least five years of medical device sales.
  • Experience in C-suite, capital, or software sales

Nice to Have
  • MBA is preferred.
  • Proven experience in technical sales process
  • Experience selling to physicians teaching a new procedure and selling a new paradigm
  • Experience discussing health care economics and reimbursement related to a medical device sale
  • Experience with prospecting for new business and cold calling
  • Goal-oriented individual who operates on a high sense-of-urgency and drives issues to closure.
  • Proven track record working collaboratively with a cross-functional team
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills and integrity.
  • Experience in strategic and tactical sales planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving sales goals and developing key customer relationships.
  • Strategic leader with executive presence.
  • Strong communication skills with organizational presence.
  • Ability to indirectly influence and lead cooperative selling processes
