Job Summary
This position is located at Wood Street in Phoenix.
This position plans, manages, and oversees Maricopa Student Support Center financial aid support with primary focus on financial aid services with supplemental support with enrollment services, outreach support, digital communications support, admissions, password reset, and other related functions at the District Office, Wood Street location and provides management and leadership assistance in the coordination, delivery, and assessment of services. Acts as a second-level manager to the student services director and has responsibility for planning, managing, and overseeing program services.
This position supervises all employees on the financial aid services core team in the Maricopa Contact Center.
This position works at the Wood Street location. Due to Covid 19, this may be a work from home position on a part-time or full-time basis.
Essential Functions
40% - Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of the Maricopa Contact Center F.A. Support Services staff by providing guidance, oversight, and administration of support services for primarily financial aid, but also enrollment services at the District Office; provides comprehensive financial aid services inbound and outbound support management in the coordination, delivery, and assessment of services offered to support the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges and MCOR/Workforce Development; and identifies training needs and opportunities; provides staff training, coaching, and mentoring.
30% - Plans, manages and oversees the implementation of financial aid support services at the system-level; develops, recommends, and implements policies, goals and guidelines; develops and nurtures relationships and provides collaboration on service areas initiatives; and serves on committees as a representative of the Maricopa Contact Center; participates in meetings and other activities to raise awareness and utilization of program resources and service offerings;
20% - Monitors and evaluates services provided to meet defined objectives and outcomes; researches, analyzes, interprets and evaluates program and industry trends, program data and related regulations; serves as a representative and coordinates collaborative efforts with internal and external stakeholders, agencies and/or community and educational partners; works with student services director and student affairs leadership to implement program and operational changes related to strategic plans; provides research and analytical support for service areas, assessment of qualitative and quantitative outcomes and/or other initiatives; prepares and submits data and reports and correspondence; and provides reporting to area leadership.
10% - Plans and oversees the development and dissemination of program/service area communications and materials; develops, reviews, facilitates and/or delivers public presentations and overall communication of service area; performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible student services or related experience that includes such things as administration of policies and procedures, program oversight and two (2) years of supervisory experience.
OR
Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and seven (7) years of progressively responsible student services or related experience that includes such things as administration of policies and procedures, program oversight and two (2) years of supervisory experience.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years of progressively responsible student services or related experience that includes such things as administration of policies and procedures, program oversight and two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Desired Qualifications
A. Master’s Degree
B. 1 year or more of student services support management in enrollment services (financial aid, admissions, records, registration, advising) in a higher education environment
C. 1 year or more of experience managing a team of 5 or more staff members
D. 1 year or more of experience working with CRM system, student information systems, telephony software including telephone and/or chat support
E. 1 year or more of experience with team building activities and planning focused on developing culture and training
F. 1 year or more of experience with policy, procedures, and processes development and implementation in student affairs/enrollment services
Special Working Conditions
Hours of operation 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, varied schedules within these hours.
May be required to sit for a long period of time; viewing a computer monitor
May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
May be required to work evenings and weekends
Must be in good standing with the Department of Education as it relates to Federal Financial Aid.
May be required to work on site or at home. Technology (computer, monitors, mouse, keyboard, etc.) will be provided for work from home, but the candidate must have reliable internet. Other workspace requirements (desks, chairs, etc.) are not provided by the Maricopa Community Colleges. The candidate must have a private remote workspace.
