The Benthic Ecology Lab (Archerbenthicecologylab.com) at Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) is seeking to hire one temporary part-time Student Worker in October 2022. The successful applicant will gain research experience in the field of bioacoustics. The student will primarily work on a project to link oyster biodiversity with aspects of oyster reef soundscapes. The position will involve a combination of field, lab, and computer-based work.

Qualifications
Required
Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at a Louisiana institution
Experience with RavenPro software
Familiarity with oyster reef soundscapes
Detail oriented
Comfort working in and around the water
Preferred
Familiarity with data management and analysis in R.
Duration and Start Date:
This position begins October 1, 2022 and is expected to last through the end of 2022.
Location:
The position will be based at the DeFelice Marine Center in Cocodrie, LA with remote work from the student’s home campus as appropriate.
