AVO Training Institute, a Megger company, based in Dallas, TX, has been in business since 1963. We offer electrical safety and maintenance courses that help keep technicians, electricians and engineers safe and compliant. The mission of AVO Training Institute is to deliver technical information to those who are progressing through the electrical industry.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking seasoned Substation Testing Technicians that want to bring their career into a training environment in order to make a positive impact on those entering or progressing their career. AVO Training Institute is looking for individuals who are self motivated that believe that learning is a continuous process.

Duties:

As a Substation Testing Instructor you will cover the purpose, theory of operation, components, function, and testing/calibration/routine maintenance of switchgear, bus, breakers, bushings, and transformers.

· Provide course presentations utilizing lecture and hands-on laboratory instruction

· Developing course curriculum as the Subject Matter Expert

· Utilize technical knowledge to enhance power equipment and lab setup

· Providing customer support

· Travel - 50% to 75%

· Other duties as assigned by management

• Minimum of 10 years of field experience in substation equipment commissioning/maintenance testing

Education:

o 2 Year Technical Degree is desirable

o NETA Level 2 or above is desirable

o Formalized Training for Substation Equipment is desirable

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
