III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION – Master’s degree. Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate. Assessment Teacher/Educational Diagnostician Certification in accordance with the Louisiana State Department of Education certification requirements. Additional criteria as established by the School Board.
IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides on-site educational assistance in the child’s school environment for children enrolled in the School Building Level Committee (SBLC) process.
- Provides on-site consultation for teachers who develop intervention strategies for children remaining in the regular classroom setting as a result of the SBLC.
- Evaluates, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the State Department of Education, those pupils referred as a result of the SBLC process.
- Documents the implementation of evaluation procedures in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and policies.
- Completes all reports and paperwork accurately with timelines as mandated by local, state and federal policies and procedures.
- Participates in IEP conferences.
- Participates in professional growth and development activities.
- Provides in-service training in order to effectively implement the SBLC process.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality with respect to information concerning students and staff.
- Works collaboratively as a pupil appraisal team member and liaison to designated schools.
- Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Schedules and/or attends conferences with parents. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
- Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orients new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
- Performs other duties as required.
