Norton Staffing & Recruiting is a temporary staffing agency based in Massachusetts. We have been providing staffing services for over 30 years and we have had great success with helping schools fill many of their vacancies. Our Education Team is looking to hire a Substitute School Nurse for our staff pool in North Arlington, NJ. This is a substitute position, meaning School RNs will be called in, as needed for the 2022-2023 school year.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Working different settings such as in classrooms, offices and off campus as needed
• Handling minor health issue that occur on a daily basis
• Providing regular health related screenings
• Dispensing students prescribed medications as needed
• Providing healthcare initiatives within the school
• Educating students and school staff on medical or health related topics
• Develop health plans for students as needed
• Monitor student immunizations as required by district
• Promoting a high level of wellness among students and staff
• Documentation of all student health records as required by district or program
• Maintain all medical documentation completed and required
• Consult with teachers and parents regarding the health and wellness of the students

Qualifications:

• Valid RN licensure for New Jersey
• Nursing experience in a pediatric or school setting is strongly preferred
• Must be able to pass a background and fingerprinting check
• Working knowledge of the medical and health fields, including mental health
• Knowledge of state and local guidelines/laws
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals
• Ability to quickly assess situations and multitask
