SUNBURST: Summers Ultimate Network Bodaciously Uniting Resourceful Students Together, is an opportunity for Nausets 4th-6th Graders to engage in hands-on, real-world, application based learning after school at Nauset Regional Middle School.. Students from Eddy Elementary School, Orleans Elementary School, Eastham Elementary School, Wellfleet Elementary School, and Nauset Regional Middle School are eligible. The Instructional Coach is responsible for overseeing Sunbursts After School and Summer program and is responsible for maintaining a presence in all OST activities on a daily basis and handling day-to-day oversight. The Instructional Coach works collaboratively with Sunbursts Program Coordinator to ensure all Out of School Time (OST) activities meet DESE and OST requirements and helps the site meet program goals.Additionally Sunbursts Instructional Coach maintains positive school day administration and staff communications; as well as positive communication with OST staff, students, and families. The Instructional Coach is also responsible for recognizing when mentoring is necessary and providing technical assistance as needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collaborates with Sunbursts Program Coordinator to develop Sunbursts program of activities Assists with hiring and supervision of site-based OST staffCreates Sunburst schedule and activity groupsActively works to recruit and retain student participantsCommunicates with school day teachers to deepen understanding of student assignments in order to provide support after schoolManages registrationOversees transitions and dismissalsMaintains accurate attendance and snack records and submits as requiredReviews pre and post SAYO (Survey of Academic and Youth Outcomes) surveys with Sunbursts Program CoordinatorTrain Sunburst Staff on SAYO implementationAnalyze data and assist in developing program action plans to address site weaknessesHelp develop district-wide program initiativesAssist with curriculum developmentAssist with PD as necessaryLead Sunburst staff meetings Attend scheduled district coordinator meetingsInform Sunbursts Program Coordinator of all activities and functions related to programBe available to assist DESE as requestedMeet with building principals on a monthly basis or more often as necessaryWork with site coordinator implement family engagement as directed by districtParticipate in family engagement and citywide events as necessaryManages conflicts and/or emergencies and develops and manages behavior plans as neededFormulate and maintain positive relationships with staff, children, and parents as well as school day administration and staffAssist with budget managementAssist with site supply purchasesPerform all other duties assigned by the Sunbursts Program CoordinatorCompletion of pre-program orientationSchool Year: Monday-Thursday 1pm-6pm; Beginning January 2023 or soonerSummer: 7am-1pm July through Mid-August20 hours per week during the school year, up to 30 hours per week during Summer
