Superintendent/7-12 Principal

The Board of Education for Ewen-Trout Creek School District is in search of a new Superintendent/7-
12 Principal. This is only the preliminary posting, a detailed profile of the ideal candidate will be added

Ewen is located in the western region of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula within Ontonagon County. It lies
in the Eastern time zone and observes daylight saving time. Ewen began as a logging and mining
center and has grown into an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. The area is filled with miles and miles of
snowmobiling, ATV, hiking and backpacking trails. It offers many opportunities to hunt, fish, kayak,
bike, ski, snowshoe and vacation.

Ewen is noted for its small-town rural atmosphere. Many natural surroundings are available from the
Ewen area. Short excursions will take you to ice caves, beautiful waterfalls and scenic lakeshores.
The seasons provide year-round activities and some especially famous points of interest include the
Porcupine Mountains known as one of Michigan’s great natural wonders, Mt. Zion – famous for skiing,
over 100 waterfalls, including Bond Falls, Agate Falls, and beautiful Lake Gogebic State Park with its
sparkling shoreline. The seasonal climate offers something for everyone.

The Board is seeking a Superintendent/7-12 Principal who is a strong collaborative leader with a solid
background in curriculum and school finance.

Salary and Contract Information
The district will offer a competitive wage and benefit package (salary range $75,000-$100,000)
commensurate with the experience and education of the candidate chosen.
