Roles & Responsibilities:
A. Clinical/Technical/Service
1. Supervises mammography and related procedures, assists in ensuring smooth patient flow.
2. Coordinates work schedules for technical staff, set priorities and objectives appraises work performance of staff.
3. Responsible for orientation and training of new employees. Reviews policies and set expectation of new staff.
4. Establishes and maintains the Mammography Quality Control Program. Assures accurate and timely maintenance of records regarding equipment and test results.
5. Establishes and maintains the Quality Assurance Mammography Audit. Sets up systems/processes to ensure proper documentation and communication of patient care to appropriate individuals.
6. Makes recommendations for equipment purchases, facility designs and staffing needs. Assists in the development of the annual operating and capital budget for Breast Center. Orders appropriate supplies as needed.
7. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies by monitoring operations, services and equipment of department on a continual basis. Initiates and implements corrective action as needed.
8. Prepares Breast Center for MQSA and JCAHO inspections and ensures area is compliant with established standards.
9. Oversees ACR accreditation of department.
10. Observes and reports any malfunctioning of the equipment
11. Maintains cleanliness of radiographic area
12. Notifies appropriate persons in case of missing or damaged equipment
13. Attends in-service programs and conferences to increase current skills and knowledge
14. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area

15. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities
16. Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information
17. Observes the Health Care System’s compliance policies
18. Makes appropriate decisions within defined area of responsibility
19. Makes effective use of available work time
C. Educational/Professional Development
20. Participates in the development of other staff members
21. Meets regulatory, licensure and annual health assessment requirements
22. Identifies learning strengths and needs
23. Utilizes learning resources
D. Communication/Relationships
24. Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families and significant others
25. Displays courtesy, tact and patience during interactions with all members of the hospital staff and extended community
26. Adheres to Continuum’s legal and ethical standards
E. Other
27. May be required to perform other duties as assigned or perform other duties when necessary
Requirements:
- Education, Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology.
- Five years experience performing Mammography procedures with two years supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiar with local, state and federal and regulatory agency requirements.
- Licenses/Certifications, NYS Radiologic Technologist license, ARRT or ASRT in Mammography

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $71,713.00 - $107,569.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
