Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a supplier diversity role
- Procurement buying experience
- Experience creating and delivering spend report data to a senior leader level audience
- Experience in a role analyzing spend data
- Experience using electronic sourcing tools/ERP systems
- Intermediate level knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to build consensus and influence the outcome to ensure alignment with goals
- Ability to work individually with little direction as well as in a team environment
Job Summary
As a Supplier Diversity Specialist, you'll play an integral role in growing and building supplier diversity efforts across the Rock Family of Companies, and as a result, you also closely align to understand the business needs and drivers to help implement supplier diversity strategies. In this role, you'll report to and work closely with the Director of Procurement and Supplier Diversity. You'll work with other business stakeholders to evaluate industry best practices and market dynamics to proactively identify opportunities to introduce additional diverse suppliers into our supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Research diverse suppliers and be a strategic advisor for supplier diversity for a subset of the Rock Family of Companies
- Analyze tier 1 spend data for the subset of companies supported and work with the appropriate team members to proactively pursue opportunities with diverse suppliers
- Act as a liaison with diverse suppliers and prescreen suppliers to ensure they meet requirements
- Assist with on-going communication with diverse suppliers and meeting coordination as needed
- Manage a diverse supplier database in Workday/GEP and certification program
- Assist with second tier reporting (finding potential primary suppliers non-diverse owned for second tier spend reports)
- Create and maintain diverse supplier by commodity recommendation catalog
- Maintain a spreadsheet with active RFPs and track and report on whether diverse suppliers were included, how they performed during the bid process and if a contract was awarded
- Assist with creating a mentoring program that provides additional guidance to suppliers to help them with the bidding process or prepare them to do future business with us
- Maintain an upcoming opportunity/pipeline list for supplier fairs
- Assist with supplier diversity event planning that includes supplier fairs, conferences, Rock Family of Companies driven events and other outreach opportunities
- Attend local and non-local supplier diversity-related events (daytime and evening events) and maintain communication and supplier contact information from networking events. This role will travel at least 10% of the time
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, to ensure alignment on enterprise projects and initiatives
