It’s an exciting time in pet food! Post Holdings, Inc. recently announced an agreement to buy several pet food brands from The J.M. Smucker Co. The transaction is anticipated to close early in the second calendar quarter of 2023. Upon closing of the acquisition, Post expects to create a new pet food platform within Post Consumer Brands. This role is part of the team of 1,000 employees who will soon join the Post family to focus on and grow these iconic pet brands.

The Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 155 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits®. Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and determine replenishment requirements to insure available inventory for sourced finished goods
- Create truckload inter-company shipments maximizing warehouse shipping and receiving efficiencies
- Manage product supply across the enterprise while meeting customer service and supply chain objectives
- Allocate available production to distribution centers for push distribution environments covering customer orders, inter-company orders, safety stock and forecast
- Keep onsite inventory in balance to support direct customer orders while ensuring safe and continuous warehouse operations
- Act as single point of contact for customer service in identifying supply solution alternatives
- Manage deployment activities in support of special projects and acquisitions
- Analyze and determine rules for inventory and replenishment plans that support customer service while minimizing supply chain costs
- Facilitate the review and resolution of potential inventory shortages
- Identify root cause for product stock-outs
- Monitor inventory levels of sourced items and identify opportunities for inventory reduction
- Support new product launches or initiatives
- Support supply planning manager with projects, routine inventory discussions, and analysis using system and off-line tools.
- Ensure shipments drop to warehouse system and correct bad status items when needed
- Support site warehouse operations by scheduling/rescheduling/canceling carrier pickups when needed
- Support site initiatives and safety culture
- Other responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management and/or supply chain or equivalent is a plus
- Experience leading projects is preferred

- Desire and ability to identify improvement opportunities
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and listening skills
- Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office and Supply Planning System
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong organization and time management skills
