Summary

Oversees and supports Managers, Supervisors, and hourly personnel engaged in some or all of the following production activities: warehousing, production planning, procurement, strategic sourcing, inventory controls (RAW, WIP & FG), vendor and freight carrier management (relations, negotiations, contract evaluation, quality, timeliness), logistics, procurement of non-production items, servicing equipment, parts and packaging, and third-party logistics activities, and shipping and receiving. Support of program activities associated with the design, manufacture and delivery of large-scale commercial aircraft interior products or integration programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and implementation of short- and long-term plans, budgets, and targets to achieve business objectives while maintaining quality standards including, but not limited to:
  • Continually improving performance inventory turns and on-time delivery.
  • Planning and inventory control processes utilizing LEAN manufacturing best practices.
  • Establishing and enhancing supply chain relationships.
  • In conjunction with the Quality Manager, establish an effective Quality Supplier Management program.
  • In conjunction with the Operations Manager, work to ensure capacity planning and meet production scheduling demand by forecasting work volumes and labor capacity.
  • Prepares departmental key performance indicators (KPI’s)
  • Manages staff to include feedback, coaching, performance evaluations and performance improvement when needed.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operating plans for business supply chain operations. Oversee major initiatives in the resolution of procurement, inventory, logistics, and related supply chain issues requiring coordination across multiple functional or operational areas.
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and systems to utilize resources efficiently and improve the cost effectiveness of the business and increase overall profitability.
  • Oversee the strategic sourcing, purchase, and scheduled delivery of raw materials to meet production schedules.
  • Manage vendor performance to ensure purchased materials and services meet business requirements.
  • Direct and control materials planning, inventory levels, storage, shipping and receiving to ensure the timely flow of material to production and the delivery of finished goods within established time frames.
  • Direct the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and term end reports of performance results.
  • Primary focal point and customer contact after program inception
  • Accountable for program schedule, budget, and scope of work
  • Develop customer goodwill and confidence through regular and frequent communication
  • Focal point for receipt and dissemination of all commercial and technical information after program award
  • Coordinate internal activities to ensure major milestones are progressed in concert with the program requirements
  • Initiate pro-active correspondence to communicate program status, on-going financial viability, and identification of key issues to senior management staff on a regular basis
  • Coordinate problem solving activities; analyze inputs and develop course of action to insure timely problem resolutions
  • Participate in and support terms & conditions and pricing negotiations with customers and communicate requirements. Coordinate subcontracted services and serve as a liaison with customers
  • Issue and follow up on program change proposals for both commercial and technical scope of work deviations
  • Manage and maintain processes for purchase requests, purchase orders, work orders to provide timely to customers (i.e. other departments)
  • Initiate invoicing and ensure timely payment for products and service delivery
  • Administer returned customer parts and warranty claims

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree in supply chain management, CPIM certificate, 5 years experience in supply chain leadership or equivalent. Proven leadership of diverse business direction and personnel leadership of staff

Computer Skills

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office, ERP usage.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
