Develop supply plans for manufacturing plants or distribution warehouses utilizing ERP systems, to meet sales forecasts and customer requirements. Work with multiple manufacturing plants or warehouses to understand production constraints, run rules, and other considerations in creating a feasible supply plan, and/or work with the purchasing team to ensure that purchased components/finished goods are procured in a timely manner to maximize customer service and cash flow targets. Develop and maintain the appropriate inventory levels to help achieve those customer service and cash flow targets. Cross-functionally work with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Demand Planning, Marketing, Sales, Customer Care, etc to ensure that supply plans are aligned with customer commitments, and communicate any deviations proactively and appropriately.

  • Responsible for developing and communicating inventory & production requirements to ensure product availability via daily/weekly/monthly planning processes
  • Responsible for customer service & inventory metrics related to assigned product groups and/or plants
  • Manage production and inventory to balance capacity constraints will also develop production plans and adjust those plans when necessary.
  • Lead & manage the monthly Supply Review for assigned product groups and/or plants as part of the IBP process
  • Communicate exceptions to production plans and lead the resolution of critical product shortage issues.
  • Develop and maintain planning system parameters within the ERP system (e.g., safety stock, economic production quantities, minimum run quantities, transit times, production capacity, inventory constraints, import constraints.)
  • Help lead & develop inventory capacity plans, including relevant contingency plans as well as direct processes to resolve short product supply situations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years related experience in manufacturing/distribution environments.
  • Bachelors degree in supply chain or related field required, advanced degree preferred
  • Production planning or supply chain certifications (CPIM, APICS, CSCP, etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge of supply chain management, inventory, operations and production control
  • Advanced PC skills, with emphasis on spreadsheet skills and ERP/MRP experience
  • Prior experience with Oracle Value Chain Planning modules desired
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a team orientated environment, with frequent changes in deadlines and priorities
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with various departments and levels within the company
