About the Role

The Supply Chain Inventory Manager will help guide Total Wine and More's strategic inventory planning and management approach. The responsibilities of this position include leading the inventory planning effort, reporting performance against the plan, and managing and working with cross-departmental teams to follow the plan and take corrective actions when deviations occur. You will improve inventory control processes and coordination with different planning/ordering teams. The Inventory Manager will participate in driving the inventory strategy and planning the tactics to achieve both the sales and inventory plans. 2022 and beyond will offer exciting opportunities for the Inventory Manager as TWM implements new planning and replenishment systems, in addition to transforming and optimizing our distribution network. You will report to the Sr. Director, Supply Chain. This position is located in our office in Bethesda, MD.

You will

  • Develop yearly inventory plans, improving the planning process and integrating cross-departmentally with Merchandising, Marketing and Finance to sync with sales plans and strategic goals
  • Develop inventory best practices with a focus on increasing sales, achieving service levels and capitalizing on purchasing opportunities to minimize cost of goods
  • Facilitate cross-departmentally collaboration when inventory issues arise, ensure actions plans are created
  • Perform root cause analysis on inventory anomalies and turn analysis into insights, process improvements and system configuration changes
  • Participate in the rollout of the new inventory and forecasting system, using experience to influence the implementation
  • Champion the S&OP process ideation to implementation
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Promotion, Marketing and Finance to ensure scope of S&OP captures most important needs and risks
  • Prepare monthly S&OP materials and participate in the monthly S&OP meetings

You will come with

  • 5+ years of experience in inventory analysis and management
  • Bachelor's degree • Experience in inventory management and demand planning best practices
  • Expert proficiency in excel (can perform complex functions) , SQL and relational database concepts
  • Deep, practical data analysis experience focused on the ability to collect and analyze insights
  • High proficiency with business intelligence, data analytics systems
  • Advanced data-driven and analytics experience with the ability to act on performance metrics
  • Project Management skills
  • 4-6 years of experience in S&OP including Demand, Supply and Inventory Planning
  • Knowledge of o9 planning software is a plus
