Job Title: Surface Technician

· Pay Rate: 15.50

· Shift/Hours:

· A shift: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, 6:00am - 6:00pm and Wednesday 6:00am - 12:00pm

· B shift: Wednesday 12:00pm - 6:00pm and Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:00am - 6:00pm

· Job Duties:

· Maintains assigned equipment operational.

· Clears errors from equipment and restarts equipment.

· Ensures equipment has all necessary consumables loaded for operation (alloy, blocks, pads, polish, etc.).

· Ensures equipment is kept clean during the shift. Takes part of scheduled equipment clean up.

· Informs management of equipment malfunction. Informs management of quality issuesInforms management of any equipment issues.

· Keeps area clean.

· Help in other areas when needed.

· Helps with light calibration, setup, and maintenance operations.

· Records data accurately from equipment of process as requested by management.

· Cross trains on tasks from other areas of the lab.

· Job Description:

· The employee is frequently required reach with hands and arms.

· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

· Able to memorize large amounts of data accurately.

· Other Job Specifics:

· Able and willing to work as a team.

· Basic Math.

· Must be able to work Overtime, Saturdays and Sundays and some holidays when needed.

Qualifications:

· Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.

· Physical Requirements:

· Skill/Experience Requirements: Experience in the Optical Industry as it relates to ophthalmic lenses is desired. Experience working with Automated equipment, CNCs, or computers.

· Client-Specific Requirements: Closed toe shoe required. Must use proper ergonomics when lifting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must wear safety glasses. Other PPE might be required based on operation’s needs.
