Job Description:
Optim Neurosurgery is seeking a full time Surgery Scheduler for our Macon location.
Job Requirements:
- Schedule surgeries for Neurosurgery to include 5 facilities; surgeries include both neurosurgery and some interventional pain procedures.
- Manages surgery schedule and keeps calendars up to date.
- Communicates with outside reps and vendors required for surgery.
- Ensures that all pre-op orders, testing, posting sheets, labs, and all necessary documents needed for surgery are completed by patient and prepared timely for surgery.
- Communicates with each scheduling facility to ensure all documents needed for surgery are complete.
- Communicate with patients regarding pre-ops and post op appointments
- Inputs pertinent information into case history from patient charts.
- Works closely with the pre-certification department to ensure all orders are entered timely. Reviewing turn around times with all insurance companies.
- Coordinates peer to peer reviews, and works with insurance reps to complete approvals for surgery.
- Codes procedures and enters the CPT/ICD-10 codes.
- Assists the pre-certification department as needed.
- Assists other personnel in the performance of their duties as assigned and as workload permits. Functions as a relief for other personnel in the office, as appropriate and to facilitate co-worker's taking time off.
- Prioritizes work received and completes in a timely manner.
- Performs other work duties and assignments as required.
