Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsibilities of the Service Line Lead Surgical Tech include, but are not limited to, the following as related to the surgical specialty:

Maintains expert knowledge of service specialty (procedures, equipment, supplies, surgeon preference), Establishes/maintains direct, collaborative, working relationship with Specialty Surgeons, Provides new hire orientation to all service specialties for all surgical techs in the Operating Room, including shared employees, agency personnel and surgical tech/nursing/GME student personnel, Coordinates with the OR Educator, surgical technician continuing education and certification preparation, in-services and competencies on all specialty equipment and devices for the Operating Room and its staff, Provides and presents a minimum of 2 continuing education opportunities per year regarding specialties’ procedures/supplies/equipment, Coordinates/maintains accurate preference cards in conjunction with the Supply Chain Internal Control Coordinator (ICC), Establishes collaborative relationships within Surgical Services (Supply Chain, OR Clinician, SPD) to meet the demands of continuously evolving services, procedures, equipment use, and instrument care, Maintains/ evaluates necessary process improvements supporting Operating Room efficiencies.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support through the American Heart Association
• Registered Surgical Technologist with the State of Colorado
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program
• 5+ years of experience as a Technician preferred; 2-3 years experience in specified service line
