Are you ready to be part of a leading global engineering design house specializing in the design and development of embedded software/hardware, electronics, and electro-mechanics?
What you’ll do
- Work closely with developers to test and validate product functionality
- Work closely with customers to test and validate new peripheral device support
- Execute qualification and validation of IPC hardware permutations on the product operating platform
- Provide tier-2 support for pre-live, and production work cell networking, device connectivity, and hardware issues
- Provide troubleshooting support to QA and development teams
- Ensure proposed peripheral devices adhere to the standards defined for workcells
- Support deployment efforts
- Validate interoperability with ethernet, and direct- connected peripherals
- Take part on On-call shift rotations (one week shifts with 24x7 with <15min initial response on critical issues)
What you MUST have to get the job done
- Minimum of 2 years of increasing responsibility working as an IT support engineer, system engineer, systems administrator, or equivalent.
- Must be legally able to work in the USA.
- Relevant industry-accepted certifications a plus.
- Strong experience in relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems
- Expert with the Linux Operating System including device management (usb/serial/dvi/hdmi), hardware troubleshooting, window managers, udev, kernel settings and modules, PXE boot, apt/yum, storage, partition
- Proficient with Networking concepts including DHCP, DNS, Subnetting, Packet tracing, Routing, Switch Config (Cisco IOS)
- Competent with BASH scripting or Python (no formal coding experience necessary, just understand the concepts to help yourself do tasks faster, not intended to deliver production software products)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and identify the root cause(s) with skill and passion for operational excellence.
