Overview:
The U.S. Government Department of Defense (DoD) Gateway at Wahiawa, Hawaii utilizes the STEP System and DoD Teleport capability enhancements to provide additional SATCOM systems coverage and robust GIG / DIS services. In addition to providing tactical and strategic forces with a point of entrance into the DoDIN and legacy tactical C4I services with reliable high-throughput telecommunications, the site supports all frequency spectrums to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Western Hemisphere, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Chief of Naval Operations, U.S. Pacific Command, Commander U.S, Pacific Fleet, Commander Seventh Fleet, Commander Marine Forces Pacific, Commander Pacific Air Forces, Special Operations Command, National Security Agency, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and Australian Defense Forces
The systems that the Global Command and Control Systems (GCCS) Support Facility (GSF) operates are state-of-the-art, event-driven, computer systems, local, and wide area networks (LAN / WANs) which feature comprehensive command and control applications. These systems join worldwide networks, connecting action officers with joint task forces and subordinate commands in Korea, Japan, and elsewhere in the PACOM Theater.
The selected candidate will provide IT support to the Global Command and Control System Support Facility (GSF), NCTAMS PAC at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Hawaii, in the form of systems administration, engineering, software support, requirements definition, and module development.

This position must meet CSWF, DOD 8140.01 requirements.
Responsibilities:
Major Job Activities:
The selected candidate will provide IT support to the Global Command and Control System Support Facility (GSF), NCTAMS PAC at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Hawaii, in the form of systems administration, engineering, software support, requirements definition, and module development.
- Provide on-site systems administration support for the GCCS systems. Through proper system administration and system monitoring, ensure the GCCS systems are available and operating efficiently.
- Provide or assist with installation configuration and configuration of GCCS servers and clients in Hawaii and at supported sites.
- Propose and evaluate Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products or unique solutions (scripts, business practice re- engineering) to streamline system administration and/or user access to GCCS systems.
- Provide troubleshooting of system problems. Make recommendations for problem resolution.
- Through proper installation and integration efforts, ensure the GCCS systems comply with approved System of Record (SOR) build.
- When system deviation is necessary to support mission requirements, ensure industry best practices or other agency practices are followed to ensure the systems operate as securely as feasible.
- Provide onsite instruction for limited system administration necessary to assist in troubleshooting and correcting problems that arise.
- Provide basic system administration training to remote site personnel.
- Travel will be necessary to conduct installation, upgrades, or systems grooming and for conducting system administration training.
Working Environment:
8x5 flexible work schedule. Candidates must also be available outside of normal business hours.
Physical Activities:
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs a distance of 50 feet horizontally and 35 lbs a distance of 50 feet vertically without resting.
Qualifications:
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience, or equivalent experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Possess and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Advanced UNIX systems administration, preferably with Solaris 10 and GCCS
- Candidate must have the appropriate OS certificate or Training Solaris or equivalent and complete Annual 20 hours CEUs.
- Sec+ / GSEC / SSCP
- Comply with the provisions of DoD 5200.02-M series, SECNAV 5510.30 series, NCTAMS PAC 5510 Command Security Instruction series and the NISPM DOD 5220.22 Series.
Experience / Skills:
- Extensive experience with scripting languages such as perl, csh, ksh, and expect.
- Experience with remote operations and troubleshooting, including providing guidance over the phone on systems operations to less experienced administrators.
