- Performe discovery and requirements analysis for new system features
- Document and test the customizations
- Conduct routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs
- Maintain Solaris system efficiency
- Maintain troubleshooting a wide variety of Solaris Unix systems and networks to include high volume/high availability Solaris Unix systems
- Perform debugging protocols and processes
- Troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions quickly
- Apply Solaris Unix Patches to servers
- Experience in operating systems, Windows Server(s), PowerShell, enterprise backup and recovery, performance monitoring tools, active directory, virtualization
- Experience with Linux
- Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Proficiency in software programs including all Microsoft Office programs
- Mature professional attitude and considerable discretion, including ability to manage confidential information
- Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative
- Working knowledge of Solaris
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific /technical discipline
- Eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (8 years total)
Clearance:
- The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation
