Summary:

Zapata Technology is seeking a cleared person holding a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph to become a System Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD. Check out the details below and our awesome benefits here.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for the technical integrity baseline of work and deliverables.
• Review and control of configuration of a system or hardware and software components associated with documentation.
• Design new capabilities.
• Assist in the development of system engineering documentation.
• Participate in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration.
• Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
• Implement SOA solutions.
• Conduct and/or approve end-to-end system trade analyses
• Prepare time-line analysis diagrams.
• Capture interface design in a common interface control format, and stores interface data in repository.
• Conduct quantitative analysis.
• Define methods, process, and evaluation criteria against requirements.
• Ability to provide technical direction for complex hardware/software systems.
• Establish a process to control and manage change requirements.
• Coordinate resolution and a member of Configuration Control Board (CCB).
• Validate models, simulations, and prototyping.
• Develop operational view, technical standards view, and system and services view for architectures
• Maintain knowledge of current and evolving agency, national, and international standards.
• Participant within an Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)
• Develop alternate course of action, workarounds, and fallback positions.
• Fully define interface terms of origination, destination, stimulus and data characteristics of software.
• Improve standard integration strategies.
• Assess risks to the program of all interfaces.
• Provide formal procedure for coordinating system integration.

Job Qualifications:

Required Qualifications and Skills include:

• Must be a team player.
• Ability to analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Ability to assist users in formulating requirements, approaches, and feasibility.
• Ability to develop technical documentation.
• Ability to derive from the system requirements and understanding of stakeholder needs.
• Ability to derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements.
• Understanding of work breakdown structure (WBS), work packages, and integrated master plan (IMP)

Education/Experience include:

• Twenty (20) years’ experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity within the Federal Government
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
