Job description
The prestigious New York Athletic Club, one of the world's premier private clubs, founded in 1868 and located on Central Park South in Manhattan is seeking a full-time System Support Engineer 1. The System Support Engineer 1 will report to the Associate IT Director, the System Support Engineer 1 will act as a primary IT support for the New York Athletic Club. This position will be a key part of the Club’s 3-person IT support team. The focus will be to manage user tickets as well as deploy and maintain desktops, software, and other IT equipment as needed. The System Support Engineer 1 will be responsible for following established support procedures and working with other members of the IT team to build expertise in areas that IT is expanding into throughout other areas of the club.
The successful candidate will be able to prioritize multiple requests and ensure that not only are support tickets resolved in a timely manner, but other routine activities are executed as needed. In addition, the System Support Engineer 1 will be responsible for working to backfill certain responsibilities of other team members to ensure consistent coverage.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
· Provide desk side and remote support for all levels of staff.
· Respond to and update tickets in a timely manner.
· Perform software installations and hardware move/deployments following standard procedures.
· On-board and off-board new and leaving staff.
· Conduct new-hire orientation for staff.
· Provide basic to intermediate LAN/WAN support.
· Provide technical assistance with network issues related to WIFI for hospitality, business center, and banquet event clientele.
· Provide support and work with contracted Vendors for networking, and print services.
· Provide support and work with phone vendor for IP phone related issues and requests.
· Provide general user administration including but not limited to password resets, account changes, and permission changes.
· Partake in large scale IT projects and implementations.
· Office 365 management including but not limited to Exchange Online, Azure, and MS Teams.
· Create, maintain, and update department documentation.
· Assist with planning, testing, and implementation of new systems.
· Learn and provide support for the Club’s Property Management System, Northstar.
· Work in both Manhattan (City House) and Pelham Manors (Travers Island) locations depending on need.
· Participate in “on-call” rotation.
Position Details:
The System Support Engineer 1 must have strong knowledge of:
· Windows 10(+), macOS, and Windows Server (Server 2016+) Operating Systems
· Core Networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, Wireless)
· PC, Mac, and tablet (Android, iPad, and Elo Touch) troubleshooting, installations, and upgrades
· Network printer troubleshooting and installation (HP, Xerox, EPSON, Zebra)
· Desktop imaging and RMM tools (SmartDeploy, Endpoint Central Preferred)
· Active Directory management
· Microsoft Office 2016 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
· Ticket management
· Vendor management
The System Support Engineer 1 must have basic-level knowledge of:
· Microsoft Office 365 administration
· IP phone support (Grandstream Preferred)
· Multi-factor authentication management (DUO and Office 365 MFA)
· Antivirus management (Sophos Preferred)
· Mobile device support (Office 365 MDM)
· Virtual Desktop (Azure Preferred)
· Desktop and software patch management (Endpoint Central preferred)
· Audio/Video equipment including projectors and TV’s.
Additional skills preferred:
· Point-of-sale hardware (EloView, EPSON receipt printers)
· Network management: switches, firewalls, AP’s (Cisco and Meraki Preferred)
· Interactive display and content management system
· Chrome Enterprise support and management
· JAMF preferred or related MDM software
Skills/Abilities/Requirements:
· 3 to 5 years’ experience in a technical role of increasing responsibilities.
· Bachelor's degree (information technology or related field preferred).
· Experience in hospitality or F&B preferred.
· Demonstrated strong decision-making and interpersonal skills.
· Must be able to prioritize and organize work.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment a must.
· Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to maintain professional composure.
· Must be a service-oriented, team-player eager to respond to requests and assist colleagues at all levels.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a group with minimal supervision.
· Punctuality and regular attendance in office when working from Manhattan or Pelham Manors locations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
