Reports to: VP, Business Intelligence

The adoption and integration of technology and information systems into company’s daily operations has increased significantly over the past year. Company is seeking an analytical and inquisitive “systems thinker” to join the team as a Systems Integration Engineer with the mission of architecting/building systems to meet business needs and promoting harmony between new and existing systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a cross-functional individual to bring his/her experience into a high-growth startup and have a profound impact. We'd like someone who has good experience with any Cloud environment.

In this position, you will interface with business units across the organization to understand their information-related needs. As gaps in information flow are identified, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying a solution by either re-configuring existing systems, identifying a SaaS offering, or developing in-house system to fulfill the need. This individual should be used to assessing situations with a wide lens and consider all implications of a system change, not just the ones immediately involved with the project. This individual must have a proactive mindset and a track record of seeking out potential problems and eliminating them before they rise to the surface.

Major Responsibilities

• Understand the landscape of company’s technology/information systems

• Understand the information-related needs of company business units

o Design integrations of independent systems to meet business needs

o Execute the integration design

• Collaborate with various business units to eliminate data redundancy and drive towards a “single source of truth”

• Determine what information needs to be exchanged between systems and how that information will be exchanged

• Monitor and analyze data from systems to ensure integrations are functioning properly

• Manage systems/integration projects from requirements gathering through delivery

• Ensure adequate testing is completed before go-lives

• Troubleshoot systems/integration related issues reported by stakeholders

• Track and resolve all systems/integration related support issues in company’s helpdesk

• Maintain thorough documentation of systems/integrations delivered to the business

• Other systems/IT related tasks as needed

Experience

• 5+ years hands-on experience integrating information systems
• 5+ years hands-on experience extracting data
• 2+ years of experience as a business or systems analyst
• 2+ years of experience with project management on software-related implementations
• 2+ years hands-on experience with industrial automation systems (PLCs, historian, OPC U/A, etc.)
• 1+ year(s) hands-on experience with Cloud architecture (Azure strongly preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of information systems and networks
• Strong knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (Python, preferred)
• Strong knowledge of web-based APIs
• Working knowledge of Azure cloud resources (IoT Hub, Functions, Queues, Storage, etc.)
• Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment as well as following and completing project tasks independently
• Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous projects in an organized and timely manner
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems according to established procedures

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related discipline. Equivalent combination of experience and skills will be considered.
